Part of my childhood dream came true when I became a football player with the National Football League. That dream was cut short due to a knee injury and I was no longer able to play football. This began my transition from professional athlete to becoming a business owner. As part owner of a lucrative video streaming company called Intervu, that sold for 2.8 Billion, I also suffered a hardship when one of my business partners stole most of the money. I have witnessed both ends of the spectrum. Through many cha llenges, adversity, investments (gone wrong) and NOW the bad economy (recession), lately, it has been a constant hustle and struggle to keep my head above water. My name is Anthony D. Blaylock and I feel I am one the "poster children" of making a difficult transition f rom playing football as a career to deciding what would be my next step as a means of earning and making a living for myself and my family.
 
Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the 5th Quarter Workshop with Mr. Bob Beck, and at first, I thought, what could he possible tell me that I didn't already know? To my surprise, this was more then a workshop. Not only were we able to go thru key and vital steps laid out in the workbook on how to deal with and overcome certain challenges, we also participated in several thought provoking activities. These activities allowed us to open up and share our own experiences and to network.  Sometimes listening to others express their very own struggles and ideas can be very helpful. Mr. Beck was able to bring this about in the workshop. His very own personal life lessons combined with well thought out plans of action for tackling anything that comes your way, was not only motivating but very uplifting. He gives you a positive perspective on how to deal with this particular difficult transition. I think ALL former and currant NFL players could and would benefit from Mr. Beck's 5th Quarter Workshops. Sometimes you need a COACH for life in your corner helping you along the way.
 
Transitioning into the Business and Working Community is STILL a TEAM effort and the 5th Quarter Workshop shows us just how to use those SAME TEAM SKILLS to be success ful in making it through to the other side of the transition, which is what we ALL want in life, TO BE SUCCESSFUL!
